Gas-to-Induction Cooktop Conversion in Waterloo

We recently completed a seamless gas-to-induction cooktop conversion in Waterloo, Sydney. The installation took place in a modern townhouse, and we were fortunate to find the switchboard conveniently close to the existing gas cooktop location.

To keep things neat, we identified a nearby power point and realized we could fish the cable up through the wall cavity—always a win for a tidy result!

We carefully threaded the cable and upgraded the outdated chrome power point (a relic from the early 2000s) to a sleek, modern one while adding an isolation switch for the new induction cooktop.

The switchboard, located above the fridge, required some creative cable routing, we efficiently fished the cable down to the isolation switch. On the other end, at the switchboard, we ran the cable down the wall and connected it to a new dedicated safety switch (RCD).

As always, there was the question of whether the new cooktop would fit the existing benchtop cutout. In this case, we were just short, but with precise trimming and sealing, we carefully slotted in the new induction cooktop for a perfect fit. The result? Another successful conversion, and one very happy client!
