Tesla EV Charger Install Malabar

We recently completed an EV charger installation in Malabar, located in Sydney's eastern suburbs (postcode 2036).

The charger we installed was a Tesla Gen 3 WallCONNECTOR.

It was a single-phase, 32A setup, providing the client with an impressive 50 km of charge per hour—ideal for everyday use.

The charger was conveniently installed adjacent to the meter box, with cables neatly threaded through the wall cavity for a clean and professional finish.

Upon arrival, we noticed the switchboard was in a dire state. The client had previously called an electrician for emergency electrical work but was never informed about the absence of a safety switch—a serious oversight.

After discussing the issue with the client, we agreed it was best to upgrade the switchboard. We installed new individual RCD protection and a surge protector to enhance safety and reliability. Additionally, we added a new current-limiting main switch. This prevents the main service fuse (black cartridge) in the meter box from blowing in cases of excessive power use.
